Visiting Beauval Zoo with children

Travel journal · Source updated on 15 September 2026; indicative journeys checked in October 2026
At Beauval, everyone arrives hoping to see a particular animal. Start with these wishes when planning your route, then add the day’s events and breaks. The park is large: enjoy a few memorable encounters rather than spending the day hurrying between areas.
One day, or longer?
The ZooParc says a full day is necessary and recommends two days for a more complete visit. Take account of the journey from your holiday home, breaks and your family’s pace when choosing tickets.
The journey from your holiday home
Allow around 45 to 55 minutes by car from Blois, or 35 to 40 minutes from Le Cottage de Chitenay. South of Blois, the Cottage can save around ten minutes, sometimes more, on the trip to Beauval.
These indicative durations were checked in October 2026 and vary with traffic and your chosen park entrance. Also allow time to park and walk to the entrance.
Use the shows to shape your day
Les Maîtres des Airs and L’Odyssée des Lions de Mer can provide anchors for your day. Check their times in the official app, locate them on the map and build your walk around the sessions you want to see.
Make the outing easier with children
Bring comfortable shoes, water and clothing suited to the weather. Check available services if bringing a pushchair or if anyone has access needs. Agree a meeting point with older children too.
What to check before setting off
Beauval provides details of tickets, access, food and visiting conditions. The park is near Saint-Aignan-sur-Cher: check the route from your accommodation’s exact address.

Leave room for unexpected discoveries
On the map, first mark the areas your family most wants to see. Between stops, let children pause at whatever catches their attention. An unexpected observation can become the day’s lasting memory; you do not need to cover everything.
Our suggestion for a first visit
Choose three priorities before setting off and one show around which to organise the day. On arrival, locate toilets, meal stops and the return route. If children tire, shorten the last loop: coming again gives you another reason to return.
Before buying, compare the conditions of dated and undated tickets, then check the opening calendar for your chosen day.
Where to stay
Discover La Demeure de Chemonton for up to fifteen guests, La Maison des Chalands for thirteen, Le Nid de Saint-Honoré for four and Le Cottage de Chitenay for ten. Historic centre, Loire riverside or countryside: choose the setting for your holiday.
