Two living spaces, together by the Loire.
In this former bakery, holidays unfold across two levels. The Loft and La Chambrée make up a 180 m² house for thirteen guests: gather around the Loft’s large table, then enjoy your own space. Two kitchens and two living rooms are especially useful when several families stay together.
Book the whole house for your group. In summer, the Loft and La Chambrée may also be offered separately: select your preferred option in the calendar.
What makes it special
The Loft · Up to 7 guests
The Loft: meals overlooking the Loire.
Upstairs, more than 50 m² are devoted to the living room, open kitchen and dining area. While some cook behind the large counter, others settle at the table. Exposed beams, stone walls and Loire views give the Loft its character.
The view takes in the Loire, Jacques-Gabriel bridge and the Royal Château of Blois. Three sleeping areas, including an open mezzanine above the living room, and a bathroom with toilet complete the Loft.
La Chambrée · Up to 6 guests
La Chambrée: an apartment in its own right.
On the ground floor, La Chambrée occupies 80 m² of the former bakery. Its kitchen, living room and dining table let six guests have breakfast or spend an evening together, even when a larger group is staying in the house.
Nights are arranged between a double bedroom behind a glass partition and a dormitory area with four single beds. Blackout curtains give privacy to the dormitory. La Chambrée has its own bathroom with shower and toilet.

The house is on the Loire à Vélo cycle route. Bicycles can be stored in the patio during your stay.

Up to two pets welcome on request; €30 supplement per pet per stay.
Linen and cleaning are arranged
Beds are made and towels prepared for the booked number of guests. Soap and shampoo are available. The mandatory fee covers linen and end-of-stay cleaning.

Practical information
Check-in & welcome
From 4 pm, Nathalie welcomes you at the house once you have told her your arrival time. A key box is also available if needed. Early check-in or late check-out may be requested, subject to availability and an extra charge.
Access & parking
The Loft is upstairs; La Chambrée is on the ground floor. Their separate spaces are linked by the patio. Street parking spaces are public, not private.
The price of your stay
For the whole house, the mandatory €150 fee includes cleaning, bed linen and towels. Separate rentals of the Loft or La Chambrée have their own conditions; the total is detailed when you book.
Length of stay
Generally a two-night minimum for the whole house; some periods require a longer stay.
Cancellation
Conditions differ between the whole house and an apartment rented separately. For the whole house, cancellation is free up to one month before arrival; see the FAQ for later cancellation deadlines.

The story of this place
A former bakery in Vienne
Before welcoming guests, La Maison des Chalands was a bakery. It is part of the history of Vienne, the district on Blois’s left bank with close ties to the Loire. The port of La Creusille, traditional boats and Saint-Saturnin church recall this riverside past. Today, the house offers views of the river and town: a lovely way to discover Blois from the opposite bank.
